Section 2 – POLICIES & PRECEDURES
Policy #1 – MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT – 2024/25
Introduction
This statement is made by Silva Brothers Logistics (SBL) and we do so in accordance with the requirements under section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, in order to be transparent about our efforts to monitor and eradicate slavery and human trafficking in the logistics chain and any part of our business.
Silva Brothers Logistics is a UK-based, national logistics delivery and training company, providing delivery services for a number of retail and on-line sellers and believe the risk of human trafficking in our workforce is low.
All our UK workforce, employees and self-employed service providers/IC’s are UK residents and are dedicated and trained individuals that have been selected through SBL’s rigorous and transparent hiring practices.
SBL has examined the risk of modern slavery within its business operations on a risk-sensitive basis and considers the risks of modern slavery in its operational logistics chain to be low. The assessment is based upon the nature of our business and the services we provide to customers/clients which present very limited exposure to modern slavery risks.
Compliance
We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our operational logistics chain or in any part of our business.
In addition to a risk assessment and as part of our commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business, we have taken the following steps:
- implementing a company policy which outlines our requirements under the Modern Slavery Act;
- where appropriate and according to the level of potential risk, introducing contractual provisions in supplier contracts that require suppliers to comply with applicable anti-slavery and anti-trafficking laws; and
- continuing with a risk-based assessment of 3rd party contractors and suppliers in order to identify any modern slavery or human trafficking related
